Kenny Omega, widely recognized as one of AEW’s top wrestlers, has always been generous in his praise for his colleagues, extending his commendations even to competitors from other promotions, such as Roman Reigns, whose championship reign he lauded.
During a recent Twitch stream, Omega bestowed high praise upon one of WWE’s prominent stars, hailing him as “the most versatile wrestler.”
“Sami Zayn, he’s the most — I would say the most versatile, flexible wrestler and he’s proven that,” Omega declared.
He highlighted Zayn’s accomplishments prior to WWE and his ascent to the upper ranks of the TKO-owned promotion.
Before his WWE tenure, Zayn gained recognition for his portrayal of “El Generico” on the independent circuit and in ROH, where he donned a mask.
Omega pointed out Zayn’s ability to evoke significant fan support while masked and applauded his transition to becoming a compelling babyface without it in WWE.
“Then, also takes the mask off, have him use his face, use his voice, use body language, and then also becomes the greatest sympathetic babyface? That — to me — is describing someone who is one of the greatest.”
Omega reflected on WrestleMania 40, expressing his fondness for Zayn’s match against GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship.
“The result was fantastic. It was emotional for me — obviously, being a friend of Sami in real life — and of course, the result, the grand finale, and it was a very happy ending result as well,”
Omega remarked. “It seems everyone was extremely pleased with that, which I’m happy for.”
