Jey Uso recently opened up about his WrestleMania XL match against his brother Jimmy, acknowledging the disappointment felt by fans and expressing his desire for a better performance.
In an interview with Gorilla Position, Jey admitted feeling that they had let fans down, attributing the underwhelming match to time constraints:
“I kinda felt like we did let the people down. I wanted to go out there and have a straight up banger… It was just a time issue… You just gotta play your position on the team,” Jey explained.
He revealed that their match’s time was unexpectedly cut due to previous fights running longer than planned, a common occurrence on event nights.
Despite the setback, Jey remains grateful for the opportunity to face his brother at WrestleMania, considering it a significant milestone in their careers:
“I’m still happy though, uce, I got a singles match at WrestleMania with my brother… I’mma always have me and him in a face-off at WrestleMania,” Jey remarked.
Moving forward, Jey’s focus has shifted to his upcoming title match against Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash France. His victory in a Fatal-Four-Way match on RAW earned him the number-one contender spot, setting the stage for a showdown with Priest.
However, amidst speculation about Jey’s potential as a top star on RAW, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette remains skeptical about his ability to assume that role, citing uncertainties about his suitability for the position.
