The eagerly anticipated arrival of mechs in Helldivers 2 is on the horizon, but an unexpected hurdle stands in their way.
The production facilities responsible for crafting these formidable machines have come under attack, necessitating players to step up and liberate them.
In a dramatic announcement, the Helldivers 2 social media team declared, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, revealing that a recent (albeit fictional) assault has brought mech production to a grinding halt.
The call has been issued for Helldivers to deploy and reclaim the beleaguered Tien Kwan.
The narrative unfolds as players brace themselves for a mission to Tien Kwan, tasked not only with quelling the menace afflicting the mech factories but also with freeing the metallic behemoths from captivity.
Beyond the tantalizing hints about the impending mech-centric content, developer Arrowhead has announced additional details about the game’s expansion on March 14.
Enter the Cutting Edge Warbond, a trove of lightning-spewing weaponry, experimental armor, and new emotes. In a PlayStation blog post Arrowhead stated:
“Packed with high-voltage vibes, Cutting Edge offers an opportunity to elevate your loadout”.
Among the armor prototypes, there’s one featuring a rubber underlayer for insulation and another generating a robust magnetic field—with a humorous warning from the developer about avoiding its use near stapled paperwork.
On the weaponry front, players can anticipate the LAS-16 Sickle laser rifle, the SG-8P Punisher Plasma, and the ARC-12 Blitzer, unleashing close-range lightning arcs.
Arrowhead shared in a direct plea to Helldivers:
“Helldivers… we need your help. The brainiacs in Super Earth Research & Development have some cool experimental armor ready to be field-tested. This is where you come in; you’re just the right people for the job.”
Additionally, a new stun grenade, the G-23 Stun, and the LAS-7 Dagger pistol will be available for unlocking.
The below teaser trailer is about showcasing the upcoming content accompanies the announcement.
Cutting Edge is rolling out to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel on March 14, soldiers, Arrowhead announced, concluding with a rallying cry to get ready to spill some oil in style and urging players to prepare for deployment.
Earlier this week, the Helldivers 2 team introduced a patch for PC and PS5, featuring planetary hazards, weapon balancing updates, and various fixes.
