WWE Superstar Gunther recently addressed his recent defeat on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, breaking his silence after a significant loss.
In this week’s installment of the red brand, Gunther, flanked by his Imperium allies Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser, clashed with Jey Uso and The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Despite Gunther’s undefeated streak as the Intercontinental Champion, his team suffered a setback as Jey pinned Vinci, sealing their defeat.
Following the broadcast, WWE took to X/Twitter to share a digital exclusive interview with Gunther. The Ring General conceded that the better team emerged victorious, acknowledging the prowess of Jey Uso and The New Day in tag team competition.
“I think objectively we have to look at the rivalry with The New Day. Well, boys! I think this whole thing is a marathon, not a sprint. But honestly The New Day and Jey Uso, they both are two of the most successful tag team wrestlers in the history of this company and we lost to the better team today. That’s fine,” Gunther reflected. Meanwhile, WWE Superstar Chad Gable recently discussed his desire to settle his feud with Gunther during an appearance on the Battleground podcast. Gable expressed his longing to conclude their rivalry, particularly in light of Gunther’s record-setting Intercontinental Championship reign.
“For those that didn’t see I went through a period through the late summer and early fall with Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. He’s on this insane run right now, a record-setting run with the title. I don’t think I ever got closure with [his feud with Gunther]. I feel like there was still some loose ends left there, that could still be tied up. So first and foremost, if I had it my way I’d like to finish that up. I’d like to finish that story,” Chad Gable shared.
With speculation among fans suggesting that Chad Gable deserves better booking as a singles competitor and potentially challenging Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the future trajectory of Master Gable’s career remains a topic of interest.
The coming events in the Stamford-based company will shed light on what lies ahead for both Gunther and Chad Gable.
