As anticipation mounts for the upcoming 2024 WWE Draft, former wrestling writer Vince Russo has weighed in on which superstars should be top priorities for RAW and SmackDown. Among his selections, Russo believes that main roster newcomer Tiffany Stratton is a talent both brands should aim to secure.
Set to kick off on the April 26 episode of SmackDown and conclude on the April 29 episode of RAW, the 2024 WWE Draft will see current SmackDown star Stratton transitioning to RAW on the second night of roster changes.
In a mock draft discussion with host Dr. Chris Featherstone on Wrestling’s Writing With Russo, Russo asserted his focus on ratings and singled out Stratton as his second pick, emphasizing her potential to draw viewership:
“You know I’m all about the ratings, bro, and we gotta get ratings. I gotta beat Dr. Chris’ behind, bro, head-to-head, so I’m going strictly for ratings, and based on what she wore on SmackDown last week, bro, I’m going number two Tiffany Stratton. Based on her SmackDown outfit a week ago, ratings! Ratings, bro! That’s a little surprise pick, but I am choosing her as my sole women’s wrestler.”
The 2024 WWE Draft will be overseen by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown counterpart Nick Aldis, who have been actively making talent decisions in recent months.
Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton has already made a significant impact since her move to SmackDown from NXT on February 2. Winning her first three singles matches against formidable opponents like Michin, Zelina Vega, and Liv Morgan, Stratton has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with.
In a noteworthy moment on the April 19 episode of SmackDown, Stratton disrupted the WWE Women’s Championship match between Bayley and Naomi, leaving her mark as a formidable presence on the main roster.
