There’s been a development in the legal proceedings involving former WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase Jr., with the trial now pushed to next year.
In a case dating back to May 2022, DiBiase Jr. faced charges from the Mississippi Department of Human Services, accused of involvement in the state’s largest embezzlement scandal. If found guilty on all counts, he could potentially face up to 45 years in prison and a hefty fine of a million dollars.
Initially slated to commence on July 16, 2024, the trial has seen a setback. Mississippi Southern District Court’s Judge Carlton W. Reeves has recused himself from the case, replaced by Magistrate Judge LaKeysha Greer Isaac, prompting a rescheduling to January 7, 2025.
Ted DiBiase Jr. made his mark in WWE, notably clinching the Tag Team Championship twice alongside Cody Rhodes before parting ways with the company when his contract ended in 2013.
Following his departure, he ventured into the independent wrestling circuit.
In a bittersweet twist, wrestling veteran Vince Russo reminisced about his favorite moment involving the late wrestling icon Virgil, who passed away last month at 61.
Russo fondly recalled a segment where Ted DiBiase Sr. engaged in a memorable basketball-related skit with Virgil, highlighting the impact of such nostalgic moments in wrestling history.
Despite his past success in WWE, Ted DiBiase Jr. now faces legal troubles. The trial postponement adds another layer of uncertainty to his future following his wrestling career.
