Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently shared his thoughts on The Rock’s electrifying promo during this week’s episode of SmackDown.
The Brahma Bull made a memorable appearance on the blue brand, captivating fans with his trademark charisma. He didn’t hold back, delivering scathing remarks to both the Glendale, Arizona crowd and Cody Rhodes.
Challenging Rhodes and Seth Rollins to a tag team match against himself and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, The Rock set the stage for a monumental showdown.
Speaking on Smack Talk, Mantell praised The Rock’s performance, particularly highlighting his witty one-liners that had the audience in stitches.
However, Mantell expressed frustration over the technical glitches that occurred during the promo, with the feed cutting out intermittently.
“They kept waiting for what he had to say. And brother, he had some one-liners in there that were classics. I liked when he called him crackhead Karens. That was good. I don’t know about your reception. My reception went black for five seconds then it would come back in and it would go black again.”
Mantell questioned the decision to interrupt The Rock’s segment, emphasizing the importance of showcasing the WWE’s biggest star without interruptions. Instead of cutting away to censor fan signs, Mantell suggested focusing solely on The Rock inside the ring.
“It made me think what the hell is he saying or what is going on here. It’s not like one blackout. It was continuous, about ten I think. Well, I didn’t count them but it seemed like ten.”
The proposed tag team match at WrestleMania carries significant stakes, with The Rock laying down stipulations that could impact the title match on Night Two.
If Rhodes and Rollins emerge victorious, The Bloodline’s interference in the championship bout will be prohibited. Conversely, a loss would see The Bloodline exerting their influence to ensure Reigns retains the title.
With anticipation building for Rhodes and Rollins’ response to The Rock’s challenge, the WWE Universe eagerly awaits next week’s developments on SmackDown.
