Team FOLON, the creative minds behind the highly anticipated Fallout London mod, recently shared some disappointing news with fans: the mod’s release has been delayed. This setback is due to Bethesda’s unexpected announcement of a major update for Fallout 4, scheduled for April 25, just days after the originally planned release date of April 23, coinciding with St. George’s Day in England.
In a candid video posted on their official YouTube channel, Dean Carter, the project lead, expressed the team’s frustration with the timing of the update. They had been tirelessly working to ensure the mod’s stability and quality for the anticipated launch but now face unforeseen challenges that require additional adjustments.
While the exact release date for Fallout London remains uncertain, the dedicated team reassures fans of their unwavering commitment to delivering the mod as soon as possible, despite the setback.
Carter also highlights the silver lining of the situation: the update presents an opportunity to further optimize the mod and introduce quality-of-life improvements, along with widescreen compatibility.
Interestingly, despite Fallout London’s growing popularity, the team has had no communication with Bethesda throughout their project’s development. Carter candidly admits to never having any meaningful interactions with the studio, despite their shared passion for the Fallout franchise.
However, one challenge remains unresolved: the mod’s sheer size makes it incompatible with console platforms, including Xbox systems, due to its 30 to 40-gigabyte size. Even PC players may face limitations, as the mod exceeds the capacity of Nexus Mods. Fortunately, GOG has stepped in to offer a solution, allowing PC players to access Fallout London through their accounts upon release.
While the mod is confirmed for Steam, the team is open to exploring other platforms like the Epic Games Store as well. It’s clear that the series continues to charm audiences with its blend of superhero action and compelling storytelling.
