Diablo 4’s upcoming Season 5 brings a fresh twist with the introduction of a new rogue-lite mode called Infernal Hordes. This mode features wave-based challenges where players use an Infernal Compass to unlock progressively difficult encounters known as the Infernal Hordes.
By successfully overcoming these challenges, players earn Burning Aether, a currency used to unlock powerful weapons and other valuable rewards. The ultimate test awaits those who manage to slay the Infernal Hordes – confronting the Fell Council, composed of three random minibosses, to earn even greater rewards, such as Spoils of Hell.
Each wave in the Infernal Hordes mode is time-limited to 90 seconds, after which players must deal with remaining foes and then choose from three Infernal Offers that modify their run.
These modifiers stack with each subsequent choice, adding layers of challenge and strategy. Blizzard emphasizes the importance of careful decision-making, as higher difficulties yield better rewards, enticing players to push their limits.
