Prior to the launch of Destiny 2’s highly anticipated Into the Light story event, Bungie has unveiled a new PvE activity set to debut next month. Onslaught, a three-player mode with a defensive twist, will immerse Guardians in an exhilarating battle within the Last City before venturing into the Traveler in The Final Shape expansion.
As Guardians gear up to confront The Witness, humanity and its allies face vulnerability against hostile forces within the Sol system. Introducing the Advanced Defense Unit (ADU), a mobile forge pivotal in erecting structures to fortify against the armies of The Witness. In Onslaught, players will safeguard the ADU as it operates, confronting waves of escalating challenges.
Guardians can anticipate up to 50 waves of adversaries, with periodic forays into a Pyramid ship for an offensive assault against formidable bosses. While focusing on the ADU’s defense, players can utilize the new Scrap currency to establish and enhance defensive structures such as turrets, trip mines, and decoys in contested areas. Set within the Midtown map, typically reserved for PvP activities, Onslaught features Lord Shaxx, the Crucible leader, as the primary vendor.
To intensify the challenge, players will encounter Champions and face bonus objectives offering greater rewards but requiring them to venture farther from the ADU as enemy forces converge. Bungie plans to host two additional live streams this month, allowing viewers to earn exclusive emblems by tuning in for specified durations:
- Livestream 2: March 26, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET
- Livestream 3: April 2, 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET

Additionally, Destiny 2 players have the opportunity to acquire Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire cosmetics, offering a whimsical tour of the galaxy aboard a spacecraft inspired by the iconic Ecto-1 car.
