Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes shares “unbelievable advice” from Hall of Famer after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL
After his monumental victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes has disclosed some invaluable guidance he received from WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL).
Speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg, Rhodes expressed his gratitude for JBL’s wisdom, particularly one piece of advice that resonated deeply with him.
“JBL gave me some unbelievable advice after WrestleMania 40. It was unexpected but really wonderful. One thing he said that stuck with me was, ‘Try not to focus on any numbers at this point because you’ve already broken every record that matters.’ That was exactly what I needed to hear,” Rhodes shared.
Additionally, The Undertaker, who played a pivotal role in Rhodes’ title victory, offered his insights on Rhodes’ character development.
Despite Rhodes portraying a babyface persona, The Undertaker hinted at detecting “heel vibes” from the new WWE Champion.
“While Cody has been portrayed as a babyface, I sense some heel energy from him. He could easily transition into a smug and superior character. It’s all part of the performance, but I can see it fitting his character,”
remarked The Undertaker on his Six Feet Under podcast.
Looking ahead, Cody Rhodes is slated to defend his Undisputed WWE Title against AJ Styles at Backlash France on May 4, 2024.
The anticipation builds as the two superstars are scheduled for a face-off on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, potentially leading to an intense promo battle.
