WWE icon CM Punk recently weighed in on Cody Rhodes’ prospects of emerging victorious as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania XL.
The highly anticipated main event of WrestleMania XL Night Two will feature Rhodes squaring off against Roman Reigns in a grueling Bloodline Rules match.
Reigns, alongside The Rock, secured a strategic advantage by defeating Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team bout on the preceding night.
During the Countdown to WrestleMania XL Sunday preshow, the panel deliberated on Rhodes’ chances against Reigns in the impending showdown.
Despite acknowledging the daunting odds, CM Punk expressed cautious optimism for Rhodes, albeit labeling his chances as “slim” due to the match’s stipulations.
“If he’s got a chance, it’s a slim one,”
Punk remarked.
“I hope he got bullets in the chamber. I hope he comes double barrels loaded. I don’t know what he’s gonna have to do to pull this out. I just know it’s gonna have to be huge.”
Rhodes faces an uphill battle against Reigns in the WrestleMania XL main event, with The Bloodline poised to employ every tactic to ensure Reigns retains his championship.
With Bloodline Rules in effect, tonight’s main event promises to be a no-holds-barred affair, with Reigns backed by formidable allies such as The Rock, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa.
Meanwhile, Rhodes garnered acclaim earlier in the day at the Slammy Awards, where he clinched multiple accolades, including Male Superstar of the Year.
His victories in categories such as Best Entrance of the Year and Rivalry of the Year underscore his stature as a fan favorite and a prominent figure in the WWE.
