Chris Hemsworth getting geared up for his upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). The actor states how he’s enjoying the change from playing a different character role of the villain Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, as it has stirred up a change from his heroic role of Thor from the MCU.
Though the long process of makeup has tested Hemsworth’s patience from time to time, the actor still refers to it as a stepping process for him to get into his villainous role while his patience is been tasted in long makeup hours.
In an interview with Variety, he revealed,
“I spent about four hours in the makeup chair. [I] was justifiably irritated by the end of it. That really helped my performance – there was a nice amount of pent-up rage simmering under the surface.”
Playing a villain provided Hemsworth with a refreshing challenge distinct from his role as Thor. He expressed his enjoyment, stating, “It’s not intentional to be a comparison of Thor, but I found a wonderful departure to it — to play the villain, transform, and inhabit a completely different physicality was a lot of fun. I loved it. And it was the real attraction.”
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga continues the iconic Mad Max franchise, which began in 1979 with Mel Gibson in the lead role. After a hiatus, the franchise returned with Tom Hardy as Max in Fury Road.
Now, Furiosa delves into the backstory of Charlize Theron’s character from Fury Road, with Anya Taylor-Joy taking on the titular role. Initial reviews suggest the film maintains the franchise’s momentum, paving the way for future sequels.
While Hardy reportedly signed on for three movies in 2015, little progress has been made on the next installment, tentatively titled Mad Max: The Wasteland. Director George Miller’s deliberate approach to filmmaking suggests that the sequel is progressing at his usual pace.
While Hemsworth fans are all cheered up to see him in a different costume, the dates for the release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga are also set. The movie is announced to be released worldwide in theatres on May 24, and all the raging cars are fueled for the grand entrance of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).
