During an appearance on the Sarah O’Connell Show, former WWE Champion Big E discussed the possibility of his return to the wrestling ring following the injury he sustained in March 2022. Big E provided insights into conversations with doctors, including one who performed surgery on Tyson Kidd for a severe neck injury, expressing their reluctance for him to return to wrestling.
Big E revealed that he had discussions with two doctors, one of whom performed surgery on Tyson Kidd, who faced a severe neck injury. Additionally, he consulted with a doctor at USF. Both doctors strongly advised him against returning to wrestling, almost pleading with him to refrain from it.
“I talked to a few doctors, one who did the surgery for Tyson Kidd, who had a very severe neck injury. I also talked to the doctor they sent me to at USF. Both doctors were like, ‘Hey, please don’t wrestle.’ Almost begging.”
Considering the injuries he has accumulated throughout his career in football and wrestling, Big E emphasized the importance of looking ahead to what life might be like in ten years. He stressed the significance of making the right decision for his well-being, acknowledging that no decision has been officially made yet. Big E expressed gratitude for his current health and well-being, emphasizing that he wants to make the best decision for himself moving forward.
“No door has been permanently closed or permanently opened or any of those things. No decision has really officially been made yet. But we’ll see. I’m really thankful for health, for life, for being in such a good place, and I just want to make the best decision for myself, so we’ll see.”
