AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm is balancing her commitments between All Elite Wrestling and frequent visits to Studio 7 at Warner Studios.
However, with her protege Mariah May participating in a company they both share history with, Storm decides to deviate from her usual routine.
On Thursday, May joined forces with her former Club Venus stablemates Mina Shirakawa and Xia Brookside at STARDOM’s American Dream in The Keystone State event in Philadelphia.
They faced Tam Nakano and STARS’ Mayu Iwatani and Momo Kogho in a trios match, ending in defeat.
It was during this bout that Storm, who previously wrestled for STARDOM from 2016 to 2019 before transitioning to WWE full-time, made a surprise appearance.
She confronted Shirakawa, interrupting the rekindling of her and May’s former alliance.
Backstage, Storm and May were interviewed, with Storm commending May’s performance and emphasizing that “the Forbidden Door is always open.”
May acknowledged Shirakawa as her mentor in Japan, while Storm assumed the role of mentor for her in the United States.
Storm described Shirakawa as “quite the interesting one,” hinting at a potential future match between the two, possibly at this year’s Forbidden Door cross-promotional event.
Shirakawa recently debuted for AEW CEO Tony Khan’s Ring of Honor brand and is scheduled to compete at ROH’s Supercard of Honor event, officially placing her on AEW’s radar.
She currently holds one-third of the Artist of Stardom Champions title alongside Maika and Xena of the Empress Nexus Venus stable, which evolved from Club Venus.
Meanwhile, Storm is set to defend her championship against Thunder Rosa at AEW Dynasty on April 21.
