Bill Apter, a prominent figure in wrestling circles, shares his views on Paul Heyman’s upcoming WWE Hall of Fame induction, expressing his belief that the honor is well-deserved.
However, he suggests that the choice of Roman Reigns as the inductor might not be the most fitting, advocating for an ECW veteran instead.
The announcement that Roman Reigns would be inducting Heyman into the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 raised eyebrows.
While Reigns’ association with Heyman through The Bloodline storyline adds relevance, Apter contends that Tommy Dreamer, an ECW stalwart, would have been a more appropriate choice, particularly given the ceremony’s location.
Heyman’s pivotal role in the Philadelphia-based promotion ECW is underscored by Apter.
As the founder of the company, Heyman collaborated with legendary figures like Tommy Dreamer, whose contributions were integral to ECW’s success in the 1990s.
Apter elaborates on his viewpoint during an episode of Wrestling’s UnSKripted, acknowledging Reigns as a suitable option but asserting that Dreamer, given his deep ties to ECW and the significance of Philadelphia as its home turf, would have been a superior choice for the induction ceremony.
“Roman Reigns is an okay choice. I want, this is Philadelphia. This is ECW’s home turf. In my opinion, it should have been Tommy Dreamer.”
With Reigns reportedly preparing a speech for the event, speculation looms regarding how he will approach the tribute to Heyman in Philadelphia. Whether he maintains kayfabe or offers a more personal reflection, wrestling enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the poignant moment at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
