Middle-earth fans rejoice as Private Division teams up with Wētā Workshop, renowned for their craftsmanship in The Lord of the Rings films, to reveal “Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.”
Set to debut in the latter half of 2024 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, this immersive Hobbit life simulator invites players to explore the picturesque landscapes of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth universe.
In “Tales of the Shire,” players step into the shoes of a Hobbit residing in the charming town of Bywater, nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Shire. Here, they can partake in the simple joys of Hobbit life – from leisurely strolls through breathtaking pastures to lively gatherings at the local tavern.
Kelly Tyson, Head of Product at Wētā Workshop, expressed enthusiasm for providing players with the opportunity to experience the tranquil yet vibrant world of the Shire firsthand.
The game offers a fresh perspective on Middle-earth, immersing players in Hobbit-centric gameplay that will appeal to both newcomers and seasoned fans alike.
Players can customize their Hobbit avatars and decorate their cozy Hobbit homes with personalized furniture and decor. Outside their abode, a plethora of leisure activities awaits, including cooking, fishing, foraging, and gardening.
