When it comes to resolution, Sea of Thieves sets sail on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X at a native 4K (2160p) resolution in standard graphics mode. However, the Xbox Series X switches to a native 1080p resolution in High Frame Rate mode.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S sails at a native 1080p resolution in its sole available mode.
In terms of performance, all versions aim for a smooth 60 frames per second in standard mode, mostly maintaining it. Yet, the Xbox Series X version encounters occasional dropped frames, resulting in disruptions with 33 ms or 50 ms frame time spikes.

This issue is less prevalent on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. In High Frame Rate mode, the Xbox Series X targets 120 fps but struggles to maintain it compared to standard graphics mode, facing more frequent and severe frame time spikes.

As for the PS5 version’s High Frame Rate mode performance, it remains to be seen.
Even in its beta phase, Sea of Thieves on PS5 seems to offer a slightly superior console experience, albeit with minor differences.
