Following his tenure in ECW, Corino’s journey led him to success in TNA, ROH, and various promotions across the United States and Japan. His transition to coaching commenced with a guest stint in November 2016, culminating in a full-time role at the Performance Center since January 2017.
The forthcoming induction into The Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame, Class of 2024, marks another milestone in Corino’s illustrious career.
GCW revealed this honor, revealing that Corino will be inducted by his son, NWA star Colby Corino, adding a touching familial dimension to the ceremony.
Corino joins esteemed figures such as legendary tag team The Briscoes, late indie sensation Trent Acid, and the late CZW superfan Kevin “The Whack Packer” Hogan in the esteemed Class of 2024.
The third Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame induction ceremony, hosted by GCW and Orange Crush, is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown hotel, coinciding with WrestleCon.
Fans holding packages for WrestleCon and GCW’s The Collective are entitled to complimentary General Admission seats. The ceremony will be broadcast live on YouTube at 12pm ET.
Meanwhile, Colby Corino’s wrestling journey intersects with his father’s legacy. After commencing his career in 2009 and later signing with ROH in 2014, Colby’s path intertwined with WWE, albeit briefly, before embarking on a successful tenure in NWA.
Despite encountering setbacks, including a stalled WWE deal due to background check complications, Colby remains resilient, embracing opportunities that come his way.
As the wrestling community celebrates Steve Corino’s induction into the Hall of Fame, his enduring influence and Colby’s resilience underscore the profound impact of wrestling legacies across generations.
