Seth Rollins, reigning as the World Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night RAW, is basking in his championship glory. However, despite his top-tier status, a six-time WWE champion doesn’t see him as a locker room leader.
Drew McIntyre, gearing up for a clash against Rollins at WrestleMania XL for the World Heavyweight Championship, recently outlined his ambitions for The Show of Shows during an interview with The Masked Man Show.
The former WWE Champion emphasized his determination to defeat Rollins and seize the World Heavyweight Championship in front of a live audience.
McIntyre criticized Rollins, asserting that he lacked the qualities of a locker room leader and prioritized his own interests over the collective.
“I don’t hate Seth Rollins, he’s not CM Punk — I just don’t like the way he goes about things in his selfish attitude and he doesn’t see it, he thinks he’s a leader, but he’s absolutely not, he’s all about himself,” McIntyre expressed. “A true leader is about the roster, is about democracy, and how can you lead the roster, lead the locker room if you’re never in it and you’re on your tour bus?”
While acknowledging Rollins’ contributions, McIntyre suggested that for the title to flourish, Rollins might need to relinquish it.
“For me, he’s done a great job, a phenomenal job… I don’t know if anybody could’ve made the title into what it is besides somebody like him,”
McIntyre praised.
“I will finally have that world title I can take around and defend, it will be everywhere with me, it’s gonna have a hell of a journey by my side.” [H/T WrestlingINC]
Discussing his social media engagement strategy, McIntyre revealed his approach, citing insights from a friend who keeps him abreast of the latest trends. This allows him to effectively engage on social media, amplifying his WWE feuds.
In a recent RAW segment, CM Punk’s return stirred the pot, as he made his intentions for WrestleMania XL clear.
Interrupted by Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, Punk hinted at involvement in the World Heavyweight Championship match at The Show of Shows and announced his presence on commentary for the contest.
The segment culminated in Rollins delivering a Superkick and Stomp to McIntyre, dealing a significant setback to The Scottish Warrior’s championship aspirations at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
