With WWE WrestleMania XL looming, tag teams are gearing up for a shot at championship glory. Following the latest SmackDown, The O.C., despite their loss, are determined to clinch gold before The Show of Shows.
WWE is intensifying the tag team championship scene in preparation for WrestleMania. Judgment Day is set to defend its Undisputed Tag Team Championship in a Six-Pack Tag Team Ladder match.
The O.C. was among the contenders vying for a spot in this high-stakes match. Unfortunately, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson fell victim to cheating tactics by Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, costing them the win.
In the wake of their defeat, the two-time RAW Tag Team Champions announced their intentions to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Championship at Stand & Deliver.
“We’re in the middle of a reset. We got cheated tonight, but we’re heading to NXT. There’s a renewed vigor in the good brothers’ eyes,” Gallows stated. “We’ve won gold all over the world, and those NXT Tag Team Titles are coming our way.”
Anderson echoed Gallows’ sentiments, emphasizing their determination to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship before WrestleMania XL.
“We’re heading to Stand & Deliver. We’ll prove why we’re the NXT Tag Team Champions,”
Anderson affirmed.
Returning to NXT earlier this year was a strategic move for the duo, offering them a fresh start in WWE.
As WrestleMania XL approaches, Judgment Day faces stiff competition from top tag teams like The New Day, The Street Profits, and DIY.
Despite their lukewarm title reign, overshadowed by other storylines and Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank briefcase, the creative team may opt to shake things up by dethroning the current champions.
This potential shift would allow Priest to focus on his Money in the Bank opportunity, injecting new energy into both the tag team division and Priest’s solo aspirations.
